Suit up!

In the words of Barney Stinson...  "suit up"!  Or if you prefer to follow Justin... time to put on that "suit and tie"!  While those men look super dapper in their perfectly fitted grey and black suits, this season has the ladies rockin' some pretty extravagant patterned suits.  I love the idea of going out of the box for  work (which if you have been reading this here blog, you probably already know), but head to toe bright, loud patterns?  I'm not sure how much I could get away with that around a bunch of lawyers... if only I was in PR.  Then I think I could rock it easily.  Yes, that would be acceptable.  So until then, I will just have to share these suits with you and drool at them.

Happy Friday!  Have a wonderful Easter weekend! xo

Color block

 {Top: Cynthia Steffe, similar here | Pants: Vince Camuto | Shoes: Paolo, old but similar here and here | Belt: Forever 21}

And ta da!  Spring is here!  Colors, tanks, and sandals - oh my!  I lalala-love these Vince Camuto pants I just picked up at Nordstroms.  Light weight and comfortable, which you may already know I have been very excited about this season.  I went bold instead of pairing one of the loud pieces with a more mundane color.  Then, I did a little digging in the back and almost never reached corners of my closet and found these super cute neutral shoes I haven't worn in years.  Seriously - like 6 years.  I'm happy to know that my gargantuan feet haven't grown any more!

Happy Wednesday, dreamers! xo

I decided recently that I'd like to share a little more of myself with you than just fashion and the occasional recipe.  Sometimes there are things that catch my interest, affect me in some way, or are just plain awesome so please (drum roll) allow me to introduce the first.... Daydreamerlies.  I hope you enjoy!

  I love fruit, it's so sweet and tart and colorful.  This bowl will definitely lead to some double takes from your fellow breakfast/lunch/dinner/fruit-time nibblers.

Band aids should always be fun, colorful, humorous, and obnoxious.  That is my rule.  Nude band aids only come into play when they are visible by employers or at funerals.  That is about it.

Sriracha is my mystery ingredient in almost every meal.  When I stumbled upon this book, I may have drooled a bit on my desk.  Just saying - I may have.

It's officially spring and you know what that means... BABY ANIMALS!  Fluffly, cute, cuddly, adorable, squeezable, lovable little mini grown animals.  I have been all over photos of furry babies  these past few days and can I just say... who knew how cute really young calves are?  Cuteness overload.

I have been practicing yoga a lot recently, trying to get into spring and summertime shape.  It has also been a great stress release and I have found myself focusing more at work.  I love yogi bear and I love yoga, combine the two and there is a guaranteed smile on my face.  Namaste, Yogi, namaste.

Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend! xo

I went shopping this weekend and may have bought a few more items than I was planning to, especially considering I just wanted to window shop.  Oops!  However, I couldn't really pass up this chic yet comfy sheer top.  I'm always on the hunt for cute items for work without having to compromise too much comfort.  Sheer tops with a little tank underneath have become my new go to work uniform!

Happy Wednesday! xo

 After living in LA for almost 8 1/2 years, I had still never been to the Griffith Observatory.  Sad, right?  I know.  Last weekend I was just sitting at home and decided to go on an adventure with the boy for an afternoon on the infamous hilltop.  I was so surprised to see couples and families enjoying picnics and hikes all around the observatory!  We already have another day outing planned, this time with a picnic basket in tow.

The views were amazing, from downtown LA to the Hollywood sign, Griffith Observatory is truly a Los Angeles icon.  I mean, what other observatory would have a bronze bust of James Dean?!

Pants party

{one | two | three | four | five | six | seven | eight}

I stopped by the oh so unpredictable Forever 21 recently and was insanely surprised at their selection of amazing patterned harem pants.  I obviously bought a pair.  Can you guess which pants above are F21 and which are by mucho expensive designers?  I foresee that pants like these are going to become a much more prominent part of my wardrobe as they feel like pajamas but are still work appropriate.  Yeah baby!

Getting dressed in the dark.

{Jacket: F21 (also seen here) | Top: F21 (also seen here) | Shoes: BCBG (inspired by these) | Pants: F21 (inspired by these) | Purse: Whiting and Davis (also seen here) | Necklaces: F21 (also seen here)}

I have been wanting to show you these pants for a while now.  Such a great find at Forever 21.  They are unique and loud, they deserved to be worn in an equally obnoxious way.  In fact, my boyfriend thought that I made a mistake getting dressed when he saw me.  Actually kind of fun to get a reaction like that - does it work? does it not work?  I think it works (obviously) so I thought I'd share!

Now go out and be fashionably courageous this weekend!  You never know how far you can go until you try.  xoxo happy Thursday!

ps- I have had these shoes forever (thanks Marshalls!) and wear them often.  They are my staple black pumps that offer a bit more charm with their high backs.

Tweedy Bird

 {Tweed Jacket, Monteau, via Marshalls, similar here | Tee, frenchi, Nordstroms | Necklace, F21, similar here | Jeans: Gap 1969 | Shoes: Tahari, similar here}

 Tweed always reminded me of professors and businessmen with no creativity when I was little, then I was introduced to Chanel tweed and vintage tweed and simply awesome tweed.  It has now become one of my favorite patterns.  You can dress it up, dress it down, and wear it with a crown (trademark pending hehe).  When I found this jacket at Marshalls with studded shoulders, I was psyched and had to have it.  I have worn it more times that the designer duds in my closet since I bought it.  In fact, this jacket almost makes my Mondays dance worthy.... (almost).

Happy Tuesday! xo
